OPD Arrests Suspect In Connection To Homicide

Suspect Shamika Rose Stubbs-Peterson in connection to Ironwedge Drive Homicide.

On February 28, 2024 at approximately 11 p.m., officers were called to the 3300 block of Ironwedge Drive in reference to a shooting. Multiple shots were reported at the intersection of Ironwedge and S. Lake Orlando Parkway. Responding officers located the deceased victim, James Jerry Williams III (B/M 21yoa). Video from the scene shows the decedent firing the first shot before being killed by a second individual armed with a firearm.

Today, Shamika Rose Stubbs-Peterson (B/F 40yoa) was arrested by our Fugitive Investigative Unit. Stubbs-Peterson has been charged with Burglary of an Occupied Conveyance with Battery, False Reports to Law Enforcement During a Capital Felony Investigation and False Information to Law Enforcement During an Investigation and Battery.
