ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Museum of Art offered free admission and extended hours Thursday, Oct. 15, through its monthly Access for All program, supported by the Art Bridges Foundation.
The event was designed to reduce financial barriers to the arts, with a program of exhibitions, guided tours and creative activities for Central Florida families.
According to the museum’s announcement, featured exhibitions included The Wild Path, showcasing 70 photographs of Florida’s wildlife and landscapes by Carlton Ward Jr., and Hello Sophie!: The Artwork of Sophie Blackall, featuring illustrations from more than 50 children’s books.
Another exhibition, Floridiana: Material Culture from the Sunshine State, explored Florida’s identity through tourism, collectibles and cultural traditions.
The announced schedule included an interactive art activity with Kelly Joy Ladd, a Conservation Florida presentation about protecting the state’s natural resources, and wildlife films with discussions featuring filmmaker KT Bryden.
Gallery talks were scheduled in English and Spanish. Evening programming included sketching with museum-provided supplies and a docent-led highlights tour.
The museum’s advertised hours for the free-admission event were 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
