The first quarter also produced 52 new millionaires, underscoring what lottery officials describe as life-changing opportunities for players.

“From exciting wins to life-changing prizes, every play contributes to something bigger,” said Acting Secretary Reginald D. Dixon. “While we create winning moments for our players, we’re also proud to support education and invest in the future of students across Florida.”

Education funding remains a key impact

Beyond prizes, the Florida Lottery first quarter 2026 contributions included $584 million directed to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.

Those funds help support programs such as the Bright Futures Scholarship Program, which has assisted more than one million students in pursuing higher education.

Since its inception, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $50 billion to education, positioning it as a major funding source for schools, colleges, and technical programs across the state.

Scratch-off games dominate player activity

Scratch-off games remained the most popular among players, accounting for more than 74% of total prizes awarded during the quarter.

Meanwhile, draw games such as PICK 4™ and POWERBALL® continued to generate wins for players statewide, contributing to overall prize totals.

Responsible play remains a priority

Lottery officials continue to emphasize responsible gaming, encouraging players to play within their means. Participants must be at least 18 years old to purchase lottery products.

As prize payouts grow, so does the Lottery’s role in shaping Florida’s educational future—one ticket at a time.
