PORT SAINT LUCIE, Fla. – A former accounts payable and receivable administrator for a Fort Pierce automotive dealership has been arrested following an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
Kelly Marie McKisset, 46, of Port Saint Lucie, was taken into custody on April 10 and charged with one count of organized scheme to defraud and one count of grand theft. According to investigators, McKisset is accused of misusing company-issued credit cards over a span of more than five years, racking up unauthorized purchases totaling $75,000.
The investigation began on February 28, after the Fort Pierce Police Department requested FDLE’s assistance with suspected fraudulent activity by a former employee. As the dealership’s accounts administrator, McKisset was responsible for making operational purchases, managing cash deposits, reconciling financial statements, and issuing checks to cover the business’s expenses.
However, investigators found that McKisset used her access to multiple company credit cards to make hundreds of personal purchases, including online goods and Visa gift cards. A search warrant executed at her home uncovered more than 100 stolen items, including home goods, electronics, toys, appliances, furniture, Disney merchandise, and jewelry.
McKisset was booked into the Saint Lucie County Jail. The case is being prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office for Florida’s 19th Judicial Circuit.
The FDLE’s Fort Pierce Field Office is continuing the investigation, which remains active.
