ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Police Department’s Fugitive Unit has arrested a 21-year-old man on multiple felony charges following an investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of an 8-year-old.
Police said Widson Felix, a Haitian national, was taken into custody on July 9, 2026, and charged with two counts of Capital Sexual Battery on a Child Under 12 and two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation of a Child Under 12.
According to investigators, Felix had been living in the same home as the child’s family. Detectives identified him as the suspect after developing evidence during the investigation.
The Orlando Police Department said the case remains active and that no additional information is being released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.
In a statement, the department reaffirmed its commitment to protecting children and aggressively investigating crimes involving vulnerable victims.
Authorities are urging anyone who suspects a child is being abused or exploited to immediately report it to law enforcement or the appropriate child protection agency. Police said prompt reporting can help prevent further harm and ensure victims receive protection and support.
Charges
According to the Orlando Police Department, Felix faces the following charges:
- Two counts of Capital Sexual Battery on a Child Under 12
- Two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation of a Child Under 12
All criminal charges are allegations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
