Charges dropped against OPD Officer who fled traffic stop

Charges have been dropped against an Orlando police officer who fled a traffic stop in Seminole County.

On the June 6th, body cam footage from the Seminole County deputy who pulled Officer Alexander Shaouni over for speeding in his police cruiser, is seen getting out of the vehicle and walking toward the deputy. He is then heard telling the deputy, “What! I’m going into work my man! Why are you trying to pull me over as I am going to work.”

The deputy responds, “Because you are going 80 in a 45.” Shanouni responds, “Because I am going into work. What does it look like I am dressed for?”

The deputy asked for Shanouni’s driver’s license and Shanouni says, “No.” Shanouni then gets back into his police cruiser and drives away.

When we asked the Orlando Police Department if Shanouni was disciplined, we were

referred to Seminole County regarding Shaouni’s criminal case.

However, OPD did state there is an open Internal Investigation with the Orlando Police Department which is still in review. OPD added, “Once the investigation is complete, it will be available through public records request.”
