Award-winning actress and Florida native Angela Bassett has been honored with her second wax figure at Madame Tussauds Orlando.
Dressed in a bold black-and-gold jumpsuit chosen by Bassett herself, the lifelike figure was unveiled at ICON Park, capturing the elegance and power that has defined her decades-long career. “They got it right — it’s just beautiful,” Bassett said during the reveal. “To have a career that’s brought me two wax figures is kind of humbling.”
Bassett, who grew up in Saint Petersburg, beamed with pride seeing her likeness featured in her home state. She toured the attraction after the reveal, stopping to pose with wax figures of fellow stars including Morgan Freeman and Lady Gaga — who once played her love interest in American Horror Story.
The figure’s look — a sunburst-patterned FARM Rio jumpsuit from The Book of Clarence premiere — was hand-selected by Bassett. She worked closely with Madame Tussauds’ sculpting team, which involved over 200 measurements to ensure an accurate, personal representation.
“Angela was hands-on throughout the process,” said Paul Gould, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Orlando. “That level of involvement makes the figure even more lifelike.”
Bassett’s work includes Black Panther, What’s Love Got to Do with It, 9-1-1, and Malcolm X, solidifying her as one of Hollywood’s most iconic leading women. Fans can visit her newest wax twin now at Madame Tussauds Orlando.
