Authorities Dismantle International Child Abuse Material Ring

TAMPA, Fla. — Florida officials announced the takedown of an international child sexual abuse material (CSAM) crime ring today, following a major investigation led by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Attorney General James Uthmeier, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

The probe, launched in July 2024, identified Krunalkumar Modi, 39, of New Jersey, as a key distributor. Modi was arrested and charged with multiple counts related to child exploitation. Further investigation revealed a global network led by Mehmet Bozuyuk of Adana, Turkey, who used stolen identities to facilitate illegal sales.

Seven Florida residents were also arrested for purchasing CSAM. Arrest warrants are active for two additional suspects, including Bozuyuk and Oregon resident Ximena Maqueda.

The case is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution and is part of FDLE’s ongoing efforts to protect children from online exploitation.
