
Orlando, FL — The Orlando Police Department has released body camera footage from the officer-involved shooting that took place on May 1, 2025, in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 4620 Cason Cove Drive.
The incident began at approximately 5:47 p.m. when 9-1-1 dispatchers received multiple calls reporting a man with a gun outside a 7-Eleven store in the 4500 block of Conroy Road. Callers stated that the man had pointed the weapon at someone while walking through the parking lot. Additional surveillance footage later confirmed the man was seen with a firearm in hand inside a nearby dry cleaners.
Responding officers located the suspect at the Cason Cove Drive apartment complex. According to the department, officers issued repeated commands in both English and Spanish for the suspect to drop the weapon. When the suspect did not comply, officers opened fire. He was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police recovered what appeared to be a firearm from the suspect, which was later determined to be a simulated gun.
The suspect was identified as Orlin Manuel Bueso Calderon, 25, whose criminal history included prior charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, possession of cocaine, and various drug and traffic offenses.
As per protocol, the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is conducting an independent investigation, and findings will be reviewed by the State Attorney’s Office.
The department stated that no further information is available at this time.
