FDLE Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting After Suspect Strikes Officer With Vehicle in

Ocoee, Fla. — A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) investigation is underway after an officer-involved shooting left a driver in critical condition Sunday morning.

According to police, the incident happened on Sunday, August 10, 2025, around 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot near 301 West Road, where officers were searching for a reported stolen vehicle.

Incident Details

Police say officers located the stolen vehicle and approached it on foot. As they neared the car, the driver allegedly accelerated toward one of the officers in an attempt to flee, striking the officer in the process.

In response, one of the officers discharged their firearm, striking the driver.

Driver Hospitalized

The driver was transported to Advent Hospital and remains in critical condition. Authorities confirmed no officers were injured during the encounter.

Investigation Ongoing

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is leading the investigation into the shooting. Ocoee Police Officials say no additional updates are expected today.
