Orlando Woman in Critical Condition After Brutal Home Invasion; Suspect in Custody

A 72-year-old Orlando woman remains in critical condition after a violent home invasion in the Caribbean Court neighborhood on Monday afternoon.

According to police, officers responded to the home at approximately 1:46 p.m. after the victim’s husband returned to find her severely beaten inside their vehicle in the garage. She was pressing the horn for help when he arrived, prompting him to call 911 immediately.

Investigators say the suspect, identified as 54-year-old Ronald D. Davis, forcibly entered the couple’s home before attacking the elderly woman. Davis was located hours later, asleep inside a shed on a residential property just miles from the crime scene.

Records show Davis was released from prison in June 2024 after serving a 15-year sentence for burglary and robbery charges. He now faces multiple felony counts, including:

  • Home Invasion Robbery With a Weapon
  • Aggravated Battery on a Person Over 65 with Great Bodily Harm
  • Aggravated Battery With a Weapon

Authorities have not released additional details about a possible motive. The investigation remains ongoing.
