The event was not only to celebrate Rattlers in the area, but also to invite FAMU graduates to join the Chapter.

The fee to join is only $100 per year and the Chapter is always looking for more Rattlers to be a part of the

organization.

The goal of the organization is not only to bring Rattlers together. The newly elected Orlando president,

Patrick Gray, is on a mission to raise scholarship money for students who have been accepted and have

committed to attend FAMU. Last month, the Chapter raised $35,000 for students who plan to attend FAMU in

the Fall.

Currently, the cost for each sponsorship table is $550 until May 1st. After May 1st, the rate for sponsorship

tables increase to $600. Individual tickets are $75.

2024. This ranking moved the university into the Top 100. Also according to U.S. News and

World Report, FAMU is ranked as the nation’s top HBCU.

In addition to the success of the Orlando Chapter of the National Alumni Association, Orlando is proudly home

to the FAMU College of Law. The late trailblazer Daisy Lynum, who was one of the longest serving Orlando City

Commissioners, was instrumental in bringing FAMU’s College of Law to Orlando. Lynum, who served District 5,

also helped bring the College of Law to Orlando and advocated for to put more minority-owned companies on

city projects.
