Former Florida television news anchor Vanessa Echols has released her second book, “St. Simon Says.” The audiobook debuted May 1, 2026, on YouTube. “St. Simon Says” follows private investigator Sharmelle St. Simon as she works to solve a decades-old mystery involving a prominent Georgia pastor’s widow and the father of her child, whom she has not heard from in 60 years.

“There are a lot of twists and turns as the story unfolds, along with dramatic family secrets revealed along the way,” Echols said.
Echols spent 30 years as a news anchor at WFTV Channel 9 in Orlando. She is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and award-winning podcast host. After retiring in 2022, she published her first book, “We’re in Heaven, and I Have Some Questions.”
“I wanted to do something different with this book, so I chose the audiobook format because so many people are listening to audiobooks now — whether during their commute, while working out or simply relaxing,” Echols said.
