Endowment scholarship reception raises $35,000 for local students

FAMU Scholarship Mock Check

On March 28th, the Greater Orlando Chapter of the Florida A&M University Alumni Association along with the Law Offices of Conti Moore secured $35,000 to use for scholarships for local students who will attend FAMU in the Fall.

The fundraiser served as a platform for the Chapter’s collective mission. That mission is to empower the next generation through education.

Orlando Chapter President Patrick Gray said, “We aim to bolster our local scholarship fund and endowment scholarship fund, to ensure deserving students have access to the resources they need to pursue their academic dreams.”

“Scholarship funds truly make a positive change in the lives of aspiring scholars,” Gray said.

Local attorney Conti Moore hosted the event. Greater Orlando FAMU Alumni Association Chapter Financial Secretary, Abu Canady said, “Attorney Conti Moore’s commitment to excellence mirrors our own dedication to fostering educational opportunities.” Canady added, “She created this opportunity so that we could unite for a noble cause and create lasting impact within our community.”

The Orlando Chapter invites all FAMU alumni to come out to the Chapter Appreciation Day at Magnolia Park on Saturday April 13th from 1 – 5 p.m.
