So far this week, all the hype appears to be on the total solar eclipse.
On Monday, people across the world will be able to see the moon darken the bright light of the sun.
People in certain parts of the world will see it better than others. But, the excitement and curiosity is still driving people to find out what the eclipse will look like.

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson described a lunar eclipse, which is an eclipse of the moon, as “un-spectacular.”
However, Monday’s eclipse is not a lunar one. It will be a solar eclipse. This means the moon will actually block the light of the sun whereas a lunar eclipse appears to hide behind the sun. Since the moon’s light is not as bright as sunlight, lunar eclipses are a lot less noticeable.
Looking directly at the eclipse without eclipse glasses, is not recommended. Even brief glances can cause permanent eye damage.
In addition to not looking directly at the eclipse, don’t stop on the highway or in the middle of traffic to look at the eclipse. That can cause an accident as well as major traffic backup.
