ORLANDO, Fla. — A female jogger is recovering after bravely fighting off an attacker early Thursday morning in Orlando’s College Park neighborhood.
On April 10, 2025, around 4:30 a.m., Orlando Police officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in the 1800 block of Northumberland Avenue. When officers arrived, they made contact with the victim, who said she was jogging when a man approached and struck her in the upper body, knocking her to the ground.
The suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Tyler Feight, allegedly attempted to further overpower the woman. However, the victim resisted by screaming and kicking, successfully forcing Feight to flee the scene on foot. She sustained minor injuries and was able to return home and call 911.
Later that morning, a nearby resident spotted a man matching the description the victim had shared via social media. The man was found sleeping in a grassy area close to the location of the attack. Police detained the individual, and the victim positively identified him as her assailant.
Investigators learned that Feight had recently been released from jail, where he served time for a battery offense involving a different female victim. Since his release, Feight had reportedly been living outdoors in the woods near College Park.
Feight is now facing new charges of Attempted Sexual Battery and Battery.
Orlando Police credited the quick action of the victim, the awareness of the community, and the detailed social media alerts with helping lead to the suspect’s swift arrest.
The investigation remains ongoing.
