On Tuesday, September 17, The Links, Incorporated, an international not-for-profit corporation, held a voter education Town Hall in the Family Life Center at Saint Mark AME Church.
The event was sponsored by the Orlando Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Established in 1946, the corporation is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations. The mission of The Links, Inc. is to enrich the lives of African Americans.
Tuesday’s forum shared information about voter registration. It also provided a review of some of the Florida amendments which are currently on the ballot.
In addition, the in-person event gave the community an opportunity to meet candidates who will be appearing on the upcoming November ballot. Attendees were able to register to vote and update their voter registration with the Orange County Supervisor of Elections. The League of Women Voters of Orange County presented an overview of the proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution and gave explanations on those amendments.
