ORLANDO, Fla. — A new city program aimed at addressing homelessness is already delivering results. Orlando’s 407 Connect initiative has helped dozens of residents transition into stable housing less than a year after launching.

Since August 2025, the program has enrolled more than 100 participants, with 48 individuals already placed in housing or reunited with family. Several others are expected to follow soon.

The initiative combines overnight shelter with case management and support services, giving participants a pathway out of homelessness. City officials say the program reflects a shift toward long-term solutions rather than temporary fixes.

Leaders point to success stories, including individuals securing jobs, permanent housing, and even enrolling in college.

The program may serve as a model for other cities working to address homelessness.
