For its Sixth Year, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium Will Host Mermaid Meet-and-Greets, Dive Shows, and Hands-On Learning from May 2 to 26
Orlando, FL — I am shore you’ll love this! SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is hosting boatloads of fun all month long with the return of Meet a Mermaid on select dates in May. This interactive experience includes underwater dive shows, meet-and-greets, and a brand-new educational adventure designed to teach families about marine life and conservation.
From May 2 to 26, guests can catch “real-life” mermaids diving into SEA LIFE Orlando’s 360-degree ocean tunnel every Friday through Sunday, plus Memorial Day. Watch as they swim alongside sharks, stingrays, sea turtles, and other incredible sea creatures in a series of mesmerizing underwater shows.
New this year: SEA LIFE is diving even deeper with Tails of the Ocean, a series of interactive education stations where guests can discover how creatures like manatees, dolphins and sharks have inspired mermaid legends. Designed with families in mind, this initiative combines storytelling with science to spark curiosity about marine life and conservation. Families can earn collectible stickers at each stop and redeem them for a sparkling mermaid treasure in the retail store— making learning fun and rewarding.
“Our mermaid dive shows and meet-and-greets are a beloved tradition, and this year we’re making a splash by adding a meaningful educational element,” said Head of Marketing at SEA LIFE Orlando Michelle Daniels. “It’s a chance for families to connect with the wonders of the sea, have fun, and maybe even walk away with a new appreciation for the ocean and the animals who call it home.”
Mermaid performances will happen from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2 to 4 p.m., and 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Atlantic Ocean habitat inside the attraction. Dry-land mermaid meet-and-greets will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., where guests can hear tales from beneath the waves and snap a SHELL-fie in the Mermaid’s Grotto.
SEA LIFE Orlando will host an exclusive media event on May 2 from 9:30 to 11 a.m., offering a private preview before opening, followed by dives plus meet-and-greets from 10 to 11 a.m. To RSVP to this event, click here.
