A high-speed crash involving two vehicles led to a fiery scene on Narcoossee Road late Tuesday morning, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Orlando Police Department (OPD).
The accident occurred around 11 a.m. on northbound Narcoossee Road, between Savannah Park Drive and Nonacrest Drive. According to preliminary reports, both vehicles were seen driving recklessly, weaving through traffic at excessive speeds before losing control. The cars veered off the roadway and crashed into nearby trees, igniting into flames upon impact.
Emergency responders arrived to find both vehicles engulfed in fire. Three individuals sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Two victims are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while a third remains in critical condition.
Authorities have since reopened the southbound lanes of Narcoossee Road, but northbound lanes remain closed as investigators continue their work. OPD is urging witnesses or anyone with photos or video footage of the crash to come forward to assist in the investigation.
As officials work to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash, they emphasize that this remains an active investigation, with further details to be released as they become available.
