Murder Suspect Arrested After Fleeing Country Then Returning

On December 31, 2021, at 3:43 a.m., deputies responded to the 6200 block of West Colonial Drive in reference to a shooting.  When deputies arrived, they found a man, later identified as Mackenson Gay (DOB: 12/28/1991) who had been shot.  He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Homicide detectives developed probable cause and on January 4, 2022, secured an arrest warrant for Madsen Saint-Louis (DOB 10/5/1988) for First Degree (Premeditated) Murder with a Firearm. Detectives learned Saint-Louis fled the country to Haiti shortly after Gay’s murder.

On June 25, 2024, Saint-Louis was arrested by the Broward County’s Sheriff’s Office upon flying back into the country.  He is being held at the Broward County Jail until he can be extradited back to Orange County to face these charges.
