Harris-Walz Reproductive Freedom Bus Tour Kicks Off in Palm Beach

Harris-Walz Reproductive Freedom Bus Tour Kicks Off in Palm Beach with Sen. Klobuchar, Local & National Leaders. The launch comes just days after Trump endorsed Florida’s extreme, near-total abortion ban.

Today, the Harris-Walz campaign launched “‘The Fighting for Reproductive Freedom” Bus Tour with Senator Amy Klobuchar, Harris-Walz campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Democratic Party Chair Jaime Harrison, U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Republican TV personality Ana Navarro, and reproductive rights storyteller Anya Cook. The tour kicked off in Trump’s backyard, where women are living under an extreme abortion ban Trump made possible by overturning Roe v. Wade. It comes just days after Trump committed to voting to uphold Florida’s abortion ban.

From Palm Beach, the bus will travel to Jacksonville and then make at least 50 stops in key states through the fall, touching blue communities and red ones, with support for reproductive rights transcending party lines. Each stop will emphasize the stark contrast between Vice President Harris and Governor Walz, who are fighting to restore reproductive freedom in all 50 states, and Donald Trump and JD Vance, who will enact their dangerous Project 2025 agenda to ban abortion nationwide, restrict access to birth control, force states to monitor women’s miscarriages and abortions, and jeopardize access to IVF.

“We heard the horrifying stories from courageous women … women turned away from emergency rooms, forced to the brink of death before receiving the care they need and that is what Donald Trump is so proud of,” said Senator Amy Klobuchar. “So let’s be clear, a second Donald Trump term would be so much worse.”

“Today by launching this bus tour, we are reminding Trump of the fact that by pulling our reproductive freedom and putting it on the ballot, he is going to have an incredible amount of energy and organizing that he is going to have to contend with,” said  Harris-Walz campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez. “So for the next 63 days – remind you we have 63 days – we are sharing this message with voters as our bus makes over 50 stops across this country.”

“I am here to fight so that other women who face reproductive emergencies in Florida and across the United States can get the treatment they need without having to flee their state, flee their country, or almost die in order to get treatment — and there is only one candidate running who has consistently stood up for reproductive rights and that candidate is Kamala Harris,” said Ana Navarro, registered Republican and television host.

“Because of the abortion ban in my state, doctors could not induce labor, leaving me at far greater risk of infection and hemorrhage … I was in the bathroom of a hair salon when I miscarried. The last thing I remember was my husband’s face as he desperately tried to stop the bleeding. When I reached the hospital, I had lost nearly half the blood in my body. Doctors told my husband I could die in the operating room and the best chance to save my life was to remove my uterus, all because of Donald Trump,” said Anya Cook. “I’m here today because Donald Trump will go further. He has comprehensive plans to ban abortion nationwide, which could inflict the kind of pain that I went through on women in all fifty states. We can not let this happen.”
