On June 13 the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC) and CFC Motorcycle Council hosted a “Ride for Racial Justice. ”Hundreds of motorcyclists from across the country met at FRRC’s Headquarters, located at 4081 LB Mcleod Road, Orlando, Florida, and traveled to the Orange County Courthouse to protest police brutality. In the midst of a global pandemic, citizens across the country are also witnessing the effects of police brutality against African Americans. Many protests have erupted across the state of Florida to demand justice for recent victims Breonna Taylor, Amaud Arbery and George Floyd. “Action is needed to change our criminal justice system”, said Desmond Meade, FRRC’s Executive Director. “In addition to protesting, it is vital that people let their voices be heard by registering to vote – and then voting.” As people demand change in the criminal justice system ahead of the November election, FRRC and the CFC Motorcycle Council remain dedicated to empowering people through organizing and exercising their right to vote.
