LEESBURG, Fla. — A Leesburg man has been arrested on multiple felony charges following an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
FDLE agents arrested Devon James Huart, 20, of Leesburg, on 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, officials announced Monday. The arrest is part of a statewide initiative aimed at identifying and apprehending individuals accused of exploiting children through the creation, possession, or distribution of illegal material.
The investigation began on Jan. 23, 2026, after FDLE received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. According to investigators, the tip indicated that an individual had uploaded, viewed, and stored child sexual abuse material using an instant-messaging application. Agents later identified Huart as the account holder connected to the reported activity.
On Jan. 30, 2026, members of the FDLE Cybercrime Task Force, along with the FDLE Special Operations Team, executed a search warrant at Huart’s residence. Authorities seized several electronic devices during the search. A preliminary digital forensic examination of Huart’s cellphone allegedly revealed evidence consistent with child sexual abuse material, FDLE stated.
Huart was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office assisted FDLE during the arrest.
The case is being prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General James Uthmeier through the Office of Statewide Prosecution.
FDLE officials said the investigation remains active, and additional charges may be filed as further forensic analysis of the seized devices continues.
