A 32-year-old Nicaraguan man was arrested this week after Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) agents discovered child sexual abuse material in his possession. Authorities also rescued a young child from his residence.
Greyton Rodriguez Rocha was taken into custody on charges of possessing child sexual abuse material and illegally using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, according to FDLE officials. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail without incident.
The investigation began last week when FDLE agents received a request from ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Tallahassee to assist in executing a federal search warrant at Rocha’s residence. During the search on Feb. 12, agents seized multiple electronic devices, which are now undergoing forensic examination.
Authorities say the case is part of FDLE’s broader initiative to track down individuals targeting children, in collaboration with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office, along with the State Attorney’s Office for the Second Judicial Circuit, is reviewing potential charges as the investigation continues.
FDLE’s Tallahassee Regional Operations Center is leading the case with assistance from ICE HSI Tallahassee and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
This is a developing story.
