On Saturday, the Florida for Harris-Walz campaign clapped back at Trump’s presidential running mate JD Vance’s remark about a segment of the Vice President’s supporters being “childless cat ladies.”
Specifically, Vance told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that the United States was run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable in their own lives.” Harris’s Florida campaign team decided to clap-back by holding “Childless Cat Lady” events in cat cafe’s across the state.
In Orlando, a full house of women and men gathered at The Kitty Beautiful – a cat cafe – in downtown Orlando. The team made cold calls to registered voters to energize Harris’s base to get out and vote. The campaign calls were not only to encourage voters to vote for the Harris-Walz ticket, but also to vote for Democrats down the ballot.
City of Orlando Commissioner Patty Sheehan also attended the phonebank. On Facebook, Commissioner Sheehan called the effort calling it “A purrfect event.” Supporters, including Sheehan, wore Converse sneakers – the Vice President’s favorite pair of shoes.
As of Sunday, Florida has over 25,000 registered volunteers to help elect the Vice President to the highest office in the United States.
