Florida Democratic Leaders Fire Up Voters in Belle Glade, Reject Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans’ Extreme Project 2025 Agenda
On Saturday, Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried, Belle Glade Mayor Steve Wilson, Florida State Senator Lori Berman, and Jacksonville City Councilman Rahman Johnson joined other leading Florida Democrats to fire up voters in Belle Glade, Florida. The speakers underscored the threat a second Donald Trump term and Project 2025 would pose to Floridians’ freedoms and economic opportunities, including banning abortion nationwide, eliminating programs Floridians rely on like Head Start, hurting the middle class, and raising costs for working families. They also highlighted how Vice President Harris and Democrats are fighting for a New Way Forward for our country, where our rights are protected and everyone has the opportunity to not just get by, but get ahead.
“Donald Trump’s policies are not just hateful and dangerous — they directly attack our liberties, invade our doctors’ offices, and drag us back decades,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried. “Vice President Harris is charting a New Way Forward, where the middle class thrives and everyone gets a fair shot. And where no one’s trying to tell you how to make your own health care decisions. It’s time to reject Trump and Florida MAGA Republicans’ extreme agenda and rally behind Vice President Harris and Governor Walz.”
“Donald Trump and extreme Republicans are spearheading a dangerous Project 2025 agenda, one that will further jack up prices, weaken the middle class while cutting taxes for billionaires, and ban abortion nationwide,” said Belle Glade Mayor Steve Wilson. “The people of Belle Glade are rejecting this backward agenda and standing up for Vice President Kamala Harris–a fighter for the people who will protect our fundamental freedoms, strengthen our democracy, and ensure every person has the opportunity to not just get by, but to get ahead. ”
“While Donald Trump is only looking out for himself and his billionaire friends, Vice President Harris and Governor Walz are looking out for all of us,” said Florida State Sen. Lori Berman. “I know the people of Florida are ready to reject Trump’s dangerous, extreme project 2025 agenda and choose a New Way Forward, one where our reproductive freedoms are secure, our democracy is protected, and everyone has the opportunity to succeed.”
“This November, voters across our state are going to reject the chaos, hate, and division that have defined Donald Trump’s politics and turn the page to something better,” said Jacksonville City Councilman Rahman Johnson. “Vice President Harris is a proven leader and a fighter who is ready to deliver economic opportunity, reproductive freedom, and a New Way Forward for all Americans. Floridians are ready to roll up our sleeves and put in the work to make that vision a reality.”
