Floral Odyssey Mural Unveiled in the Heart of Downtown Orlando

Orlando, FL — On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, City District Orlando Main Street, Launch That, RedTape Orlando, and the City of Orlando’s Community Redevelopment Agency officially unveiled Floral Odyssey, a striking new mural now adorning the façade of 1 South Orange Avenue. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held at 4:30 p.m., featured remarks by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and the mural’s creators, local artists Peterson Guerrier and Chris Jones.

The large-scale mural, titled Floral Odyssey, was designed to reflect the spirit of imagination, creativity, and transformation. With its vibrant color palette, layered textures, and sweeping brushstrokes, the mural aims to reignite childhood dreams and awaken a sense of wonder in all who encounter it. The work is not only a stunning piece of public art—it also symbolizes a key milestone in the ongoing implementation of the Downtown Orlando (DTO) Action Plan, which seeks to enhance the city’s urban core through public art, placemaking, and community engagement.

“This mural is a visual reminder of the power of dreaming big,” said Mike Griffin, Executive Director of City District Main Street. “It reflects our community’s creativity and our commitment to building a downtown that is vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring.”

Mayor Buddy Dyer, along with David Barilla, Executive Director of the Downtown Development Board and Community Redevelopment Agency, praised the project as a testament to Orlando’s growing creative momentum and its investment in public art as a driver of civic pride and revitalization.

Artists Guerrier and Jones, both affiliated with RedTape Orlando, described the mural as a “living canvas” that invites people of all ages and backgrounds to reflect on their aspirations. “As artists, we wanted to create something that not only beautifies the space but sparks a conversation,” said Guerrier. “Floral Odyssey asks a simple but powerful question: What do you want to be?

The unveiling drew residents, community leaders, and art lovers alike, all eager to witness the latest addition to downtown’s cultural landscape. The event also served as a celebration of the collective effort between local government, artists, and community partners to reimagine public spaces in downtown Orlando.
