Federal Judge Dismisses Trump Classified Documents Case

This morning, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the classified documents lawsuit against former President Donald Trump. The lawsuit stems from the threat that may make the nation extremely vulnerable.

After Trump lost the 2020 election, the former president took boxes with classified documents from The White House. Pictures of those classified documents were shown throughout Trump’s home in his including bathroom.

Trump faced dozens of felony counts for illegally hoarding those classified documents at his home in Florida. He was also charged with obstructing FBI efforts to get the documents back.

Donald Trump’s lawyers filed multiple challenges that accused special counsel Jack Smith had been illegally appointed under the Constitution’s Appointment Clause. That clause governs the appointment of certain government positions. It also states that his office was improperly funded by the Justice Department.
