FDLE arrests Altamonte Springs man for possession of child sexual abuse material

Suspect uploaded files depicting minors engaged in sexual activity

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Langston Rowe, 19, of Altamonte Springs, on five felony counts of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The arrest is the result of FDLE’s statewide initiative to locate and arrest criminals sharing files depicting the sexual abuse of children.

The investigation began in November when FDLE received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), alerting agents to files depicting the sexual abuse of children being uploaded to an online storage platform. The investigation identified Rowe as the account user and his residence as the location where the IP address was being used.

FDLE agents served a warrant at Rowe’s residence and seized several electronic devices. A preliminary forensic analysis located multiple files depicting the sexual abuse of children, some as young as 8 years old.

Rowe was arrested and booked into the Seminole County Jail on Dec 20. The case will be prosecuted by Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.

The investigation was conducted by FDLE’s Orlando Cybercrime unit.
