On September 18, at approximately 11:18 PM, deputies were dispatched to 497 Sun Lake Circle in unincorporated Lake Mary in response to reports of shots fired. Witnesses reported hearing male voices arguing, followed by a gunshot. Upon arrival, deputies encountered a female screaming and located a male victim, later identified as Larreon Da’Quan Cosby (DOB 8/5/1992), with a gunshot wound laying in the porch area of the apartment. The Seminole County Fire Department responded and pronounced Cosby deceased at the scene. The victim’s girlfriend informed deputies that her ex-boyfriend, Nathanal Samuel Bratcher II (DOB 01/15/1998), called her stating he was going to kill Cosby. When she couldn’t reach Cosby via phone to warn him, she drove with several acquaintances to Cosby’s apartment, where they found him unresponsive and bleeding.
The girlfriend stated Bratcher was driving a white Ford Mustang convertible and lives on El Capitan Drive in Sanford. This information was quickly relayed to responding deputies and surrounding agencies. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Alert helicopter located the Mustang occupied by two individuals near Osceola Drive and El Capitan Drive. Sanford Police Officers subsequently stopped the vehicle and Bratcher was taken into custody without incident.
Bratcher was questioned by detectives and has been booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on one count of First-Degree Premeditated Murder, where he remains in custody with no bond.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation at this time. Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office at 407-665-6650, or CrimeLine at 1-800- 423-TIPS or **TIPS.
