The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has launched an investigation into the shooting, a standard procedure in officer-involved incidents. Once FDLE completes its review, the findings will be submitted to the State Attorney’s Office for further examination. Additionally, the sheriff’s office will conduct an internal review of the deputies’ actions.
The two deputies who fired their weapons have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the results of the initial FDLE investigation.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved, and further details about the circumstances leading up to the altercation remain under review.
