Congressman Maxwell Frost Congratulates State Attorney Worrell on Her Swearing-In, Stands Alongside Central Florida Voters to Ensure Democracy is Protected
ORLANDO, FL—Today, Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL-10) congratulates State Attorney Monique Worrell on her return to duly elected office and reaffirms his commitment to ensure the will of Central Florida voters is protected against political attacks on duly elected officials.
State Attorney Worrell, who was first elected to serve in this post in 2020, was wrongfully removed from office in 2023. Last November, the voters of Central Florida sent a loud and clear message, voting Worrell back into office with nearly 60 percent of the vote.
Since then, Ron DeSantis and his allies have made it clear they plan to continue their attacks on Worrell and ignore the will of Central Florida voters.
In a statement, Rep. Frost says:
“I send my heartfelt congratulations to State Attorney Monique Worrell on her swearing-in today. The people of our community have overwhelmingly given her their support not once, but twice now, to lead Central Florida in the pursuit of true justice and equality under the law.
“The battles State Attorney Worrell has fought have been nothing short of baseless Republican attempts to discredit and destroy a duly elected Black woman.
“Alongside my fellow Floridians, I will not stand by and watch as anyone attempts to harass, threaten, or intimidate Monique Worrell out of the office she was appointed to serve. Our community is ready to support and defend State Attorney Worrell against any and all unfounded and politically motivated attacks and to preserve democracy above all.”
