Since Conducting Mobile Office Hours in the Bithlo Neighborhood Frost Office Has Seen Over 300 Constituents and Solved 50 cases
Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL-10) has announced the opening of his Bithlo Branch District Office with the Bithlo-Christmas Neighborhood Center for Families to continue his office’s constituent services to an underserved area.
Since June 2023, Congressman Frost’s office has been hosting mobile office hours in Bithlo, allowing them to serve over 300 constituents and solve 50 cases, including helping:
- A homeless veteran who needed to obtain his DD214 to receive the benefits he is entitled to. The Office of Congressman Frost urgently contacted the NPRC and received his discharge records three days later. This document will make him eligible for medical and housing assistance through the VA.
- A senior citizen in a dire situation, needing his work authorization to work and save his home from mortgage foreclosure. Congressman Frost’s team urgently inquired with USCIS and had his card approved and shipped to his house.
- A constituent who was waiting for the approval of his SSD claim. Frost’s office inquired with the SSA on his behalf and approved his claim after several months of following up with them. The constituent will receive $1,840 per month moving forward and a retroactive amount of $11,040, for a total of $33K for the year. As a construction worker and main earner for his family, the assistance from the Frost office is making a world of difference in being able to provide financial security for his loved ones.
Congressman Frost’s new branch office will mean that service in Bithlo will be able to continue uninterrupted. David Sanchez, a Senior Constituent Advocate, will offer casework services by appointment from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every other Thursday to assist constituents with federal agencies, such as the IRS, VA, USCIS, and Social Security Administration.
“We are seeing a rising number of low-income folks being pushed out by the growing gentrification happening on the east side of town, leaving many without access to the resources they need to get back on their feet,” said Congressman Frost. “By establishing this branch office, we are meeting the people where they are and connecting members of the Bithlo community to the resources and opportunities they need to have affordable access to housing, healthcare, and other basic necessities.”
Since being elected, Frost has established pop-up satellite offices in Pine Hills, Eatonville, and the University of Central Florida to provide constituent services to seniors, low-income folks, and students across these communities.
