Arrests made at Boone High School for Possession of a Firearm

Last Friday, Orlando Police Department (OPD) School Resource Officers at Boone High School were alerted that a student was carrying a suspected handgun on campus. The officers located and detain a 17-year-old, 10th grade student and found her to have a loaded 9mm handgun in her backpack.
Officers continued determined the student’s 19-year-old boyfriend – who also attends Boone – had given her the gun to carry. According to OPD, the boyfriend had plans to later retrieve the firearm. Both students were arrested and were charged with “Possession of a Firearm on a School Campus.” The adult male suspect was also charged with “Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.”
