Arrest Made in 2023 Orlando Homicide

After nearly two years, authorities have made an arrest in the 2023 killing of Terrance Dolan, an Orlando man whose death initially appeared to be the result of a car crash.

On the morning of July 8, 2023, a concerned citizen called 9-1-1 to report a vehicle accident at the intersection of Summerlin Avenue and Palmer Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Dolan, 56, inside the vehicle. However, his injuries raised immediate suspicions, as they did not appear consistent with those typically seen in car accidents. He was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

After an extensive investigation, law enforcement identified Herlin Petion, 25, as a suspect in Dolan’s death. On Monday, U.S. Marshals apprehended Petion in Dayton, Ohio. He is now facing charges of Second Degree Murder with a Weapon.

Authorities have not yet released further details on the circumstances surrounding the case.
